General Information

The School of Foreign Languages is a comprehensive and specialized academic unit that aims to provide a strong foreign language foundation for all undergraduate and associate degree programs at our university. Through its General English, Field Specific English (for Translation Studies, English Language and Literature, and English Language Teaching Departments), German, French, and Russian Preparatory Programs, as well as the Modern Languages Department offering courses in seven different languages—English, German, French, Russian, Spanish, Chinese, and Korean—it contributes to students’ ability to communicate effectively in academic, professional, and cultural contexts.

With the programs offered under its structure, the School of Foreign Languages provides holistic solutions to the educational needs of various faculties and departments. While the Preparatory Programs equip students with the necessary language proficiency to comfortably follow departmental courses once they transition into their faculties, the Modern Languages Department enables students to learn seven globally significant foreign languages throughout their undergraduate studies, with an approach centered on academic accuracy, cultural depth, and communicative competence.

All programs within the School are offered in alignment with CEFR standards, ranging from A1 to C1 levels. These programs aim to ensure students gain competence in grammar, the four core language skills, academic literacy, critical thinking, and intercultural awareness. The educational processes are supported by contemporary pedagogical approaches, digital learning environments, authentic materials, and an assessment system focused on continuous improvement.

With its highly qualified academic staff and student-centered instructional philosophy, the School of Foreign Languages strives to cultivate individuals who not only learn a language but can also use it effectively as a tool for academic production, cultural interaction, and professional communication. Through this comprehensive educational approach, students begin their undergraduate studies with strong language competence and acquire the qualifications needed to adapt to global learning environments and compete at an international level.
