Korean Department

The Korean Language Program is a contemporary and intercultural language education field that strengthens the multilingual vision of the Modern Languages Department. Considering the rapidly developing South Korean economy, technology sector, cultural industries (K-culture, K-content), and international diplomatic relations on a global scale, learning Korean provides our students with a significant advantage in both academic and professional contexts. In this respect, the program aims to ensure that students view Korean not merely as a means of communication but also as a valuable gateway to Korean culture, society, the contemporary business world, and academic research fields.

The program is structured in line with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and aims to develop students’ core language skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) in a holistic and balanced manner.

The primary objectives of the Korean Language Program include:

  • Fostering students’ awareness of East Asian cultures,
  • Strengthening intercultural communication skills,
  • Equipping learners with sustainable Korean language proficiency for academic and professional contexts.
